My favorite Bristol photo shoot locations

After having lived in Bristol for the last few years I’ve put together some of my most favorite Bristol Locations for a Couple or Engagement Session.

If you’re looking for a natural outdoor engagement, couples, family or maternity session in and around Bristol please reach out and let’s get to making some magic.

Without further ado, my favorite Bristol City Based location:

Bristol Harbourside.

So, if I’m not working I’m likely having drinks with my legs hanging off the edge somewhere on Bristol Harbourside. I think this rings true for a number of Bristol-Based couples. There is loads of variation to be had around the area from the red walls of the M-Shed to the coziness of being Under the Stars. Super accessible as just off from Bristol City Center but with that comes crowds. If we are shooting during the weekend or during incredible weather it’s best for us to opt for a morning time unless you’re willing to brave the crowds.

Your Local Neighborhood.

We are so lucky in Bristol to be surrounded by incredibly cool neighborhoods. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting around Stoke’s Croft / St.Pauls, Clifton, Easton and Bedminster.

To me there is nothing better than a relaxed couple’s shoot in your own neighborhood. Maybe you’re about to move and want to document the walk you both would take to the local pub or get some photos of you guys after just buying a house. Your neighborhood can mean more to you than an iconic Bristol Location and I am here to make your vision come true.

Trooper’s Hill.

A firm favorite of mine and one of the first places I shot at when I first moved to Bristol. The American in me loves the National Park vibes that this incredible space has to offer and I cannot move past the views. I am dying to get a sunset/golden hour session booked in here so if that floats your boat, get in touch.

The area is accessible from Easton via a short walk but there is free parking around the local area.

Ashton Court Estate.

Another favorite of mine but this is probably because I am located in South Bristol. Nonetheless, I love Ashton Court for the variety it offers. Woodlands, Open Space, Gardens. You name it - Ashton Court has got it. There are a number of pay and display car parks dotted throughout the area so parking usually isn’t an issue unless it’s quite busy.

It has been the backdrop for so many lovely shoots of mine. This is my go-to location for any shoots planned last minute or anyone hoping to escape the city.

Clifton Suspension Bridge

This spot gives me all the classic and timeless vibes but also offers one of the most iconic Bristol Locations there may be. Accessible by public transport (No.8 Bus) and/or Pay & Display parking in Clifton Bridge. There a few spots I love the most, capturing the bridge from a few different angles. Additionally we can shoot off towards the greenery and pretend we are no where near it at all.

I must say, this might be the most romantic Bristol Photoshoot Location of them all.

Sand Bay, North Somerset

So not technically Bristol but for those who are up for driving out of the city, Sand Bay, if I squint really hard, reminds me of Home (California). This beach has been the backdrop for some of my all-time favourite sessions from family to maternity and looks great even in the rainiest weather. There is a pay and display parking lots as well as toilets (although you have to pay for these as well).

This blog was last updated in April 2024. With that being said I probably have about 100 other locations that I am absolutely obsessed with. I hope this gave you some location inspiration and that final nudge to book me for your Bristol Couples, Engagement or Maternity Photoshoot. I’m ready to make some magic.
