2025 - Oh What a Year! Madison Brooke Photography.
2025 was… a lot. As most of my clients know, we spent a huge chunk of the year renovating our North East home, which we bought in November 2024. Between a near-full rewire, a complete living room and kitchen makeover, ceiling leaks, asbestos scares. You name it - it happened.
We even added a downstairs toilet (yes, digging up the back garden was part of the fun) and somehow managed to get enough done to host family at Christmas! Wild!! Did we stress everyone out along the way? Probably. But it was so totally worth it.
On top of all that, this year saw me move offices to one closer to home. I don’t usually talk much about my full-time job here, but it’s a big part of my life. Honestly, I’m hoping 2026 brings more time and energy for photography. It’s so clear to everyone around me that this is where my life direction should be heading. Balancing this little business alongside a full-on full-time job means stuff likes blogs and marketing are last on my list. Anyways….
2025 was also my first full year photographing weddings in the North East. Moving a business across the country isn’t exactly easy, but it’s happening! More and more enquiries are coming from North East couples at amazing venues, and I couldn’t be happier. That said, I still love taking South West bookings too, which made up most of my work last year.
So, I thought I’d share a little 2025 wedding roundup of some of my favourite moments from the year. I know we’re already halfway through January, but here we go!! This blog post is definitely more for me than anyone else - just to remind myself that this business is growing and going and on that I am most definitely on my way.
So without further ado….. My 2025 Weddings!
Electric Bristol Wedding for H & T
First up was H & T, who tied the knot in the stunning Lantern Room at Bristol Registry Office before heading to their fun-filled reception at the Mr Wolf’s Radnor Rooms, where the energy was turned all the way up.
Vibrant Portland City Centre Wedding for J & N.
Next up, I had the absolute joy of flying to Portland, Oregon to photograph my younger sister’s wedding. The day was magical, set at the beautiful Union Pine with its warm, inviting vibes and perfect backdrop for an intimate celebration. Before the big day, we had an epic pre-wedding shoot at Cannon Beach, and honestly it was everything I could have hoped for. I hadn’t been on that coast line for at least 10 years so it was so nice.
Romantic Day for A & A in Newcastle Upon Tyne
About a week after landing back in the UK, I was straight back into wedding season photographing A & A at the beautiful George Washington Hotel in Newcastle. Their day was all about family, friends, and the sweetest personal touches. It was one of those weddings that feels incredibly warm from start to finish and reminds you just how special it is to capture moments that mean the world to the people in the room.
Fun-filled day for R & H at Chew Valley Wedding
Peak summer saw me heading back down to Bristol to capture R & H’s day at Chew Valley Weddings, and honestly it had everything. R pulled out three outfit changes, there was a booze canoe, a slip and slide, and even a mechanical bull. Absolute chaos in the best possible way, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Lake District Roundthorn Country House for A & A
October rolled around quickly and I had the absolute pleasure of capturing A & A’s day at Roundthorn Country House in Penrith and what a blast it was. Huge music lovers, A & A’s personalities were woven through every part of the day, from the soundtrack to the atmosphere, all surrounded by their incredible group of friends and family. One of those weddings that’s loud, joyful, and completely unforgettable.
Fairytale Wedding for T & J at Eastingon Park, Gloucestershire.
My final wedding of the year was for T & J at the stunning Eastington Park, and it truly felt like stepping into a fairytale. From start to finish, the day was filled with softness, romance, and a deep sense of love one of those celebrations that feels timeless and will stay with me for years to come.
Looking back on these days reminds me just how lucky I am to do this work, and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
