Candid Couples Session in Newcastle City Centre — N & M at Grainger Market
When N & M reached out to me about a couples session, they had something beautifully ordinary in mind — no sweeping views or golden-hour cliffs. Instead, they wanted to wander through Newcastle City Centre, grabbing bagels, browsing the stalls at Grainger Market, and doing their weekly grocery shop together.
They’re moving away soon and wanted photos that actually felt like their time here — grabbing bagels, picking up groceries, and laughing their way around Grainger Market. It was such a refreshing idea, and honestly, the kind of session that makes me love this job.
We started the morning in Grainger Market, one of my favourite spots in Newcastle. It’s always busy with locals, the smell of coffee and bread hanging in the air, and that perfect mix of chaos and charm.
N & M grabbed their usual bagels, chatted with the vendors, and drifted through the stalls like they’ve done a hundred times before. I mostly just tagged along, camera in hand, catching those small in-between moments — the laughter, the quick glances, the way they naturally fall into step together.
After the market, we wandered through the city centre down to the train station, catching some stunning moments at such an iconic Newcastle location.
Before their move, this shoot felt like a love letter to Newcastle — the streets, the sounds, and all the small routines that made it theirs. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re leaving the North East, just moved here, or want to capture what your everyday looks like — it’s such a beautiful way to hold onto a chapter of your life.
